Even when parked and silent, a Knucklehead Bobber grabs your attention. Stripped of a front fender, the springer fork gets more dramatic, the polished and chromed out motor is front and center.  The tanks and top frame tube drive your eyes to the fat rear wheel and fender. Just as in Class C racing, less is more and this is about what a 45 inch WR for dirt track racing would look like, only street legal and a little flashier.

With a couple of prime kicks through the Linkert carb, a third kick and it roars to life, settles to a lope, rumbles through the fishtail straight pipe.

This is a real 1946 Harley-Davidson EL motor, frame and forks, stripped down years ago.  Tank trim, badges, even the air cleaner and mirror are period, NOS Harley-Davidson. The taillight, you may notice, is a real PK “limp dick” piece and the dash, dash lights and speedo are original 1946 Harley-Davidson.

Cadmium plated and Parkerized fasteners are styling counterpoints; flash against a subtle industrial finish, set off by just enough chrome plating.

This Bobber, built over a decade ago, has been fettled, as the Brits say, and has logged 1300 miles by builder David Ohrt since its complete rebuild.
